Play responsibly

Last updated: 22 October 2026

RafikiRaffles should feel like a fun, cheap bit of hope — not a problem. Here is how to keep it that way, and how to ask us to stop taking your money if it stops being fun.

18+ only

RafikiRaffles is only for adults aged 18 or over who are in Kenya. We check this before releasing a prize, and we refund and void any ticket we find was bought by a minor.

Treat it as entertainment, not income

A ticket is money spent on the chance of winning, and most tickets do not win. Decide what you are happy to spend before you open the app — KSh 20 here, a little more there — and treat that money as gone the moment you pay. Never play with rent, school fees, or money you owe.

Set your own limits

  • Only play with money you can afford to lose completely.
  • Never use M-Pesa loans or credit to buy tickets.
  • Decide a weekly amount before you start and stop when you reach it, whether you are winning or losing.
  • Do not chase a loss by buying more tickets — the odds do not change because you lost.
  • Take real breaks. If playing is taking over your day, step away.

Warning signs

Think honestly about your playing if you: spend more than you planned, lie to family about how much you play, borrow money to play, feel restless or angry when you cannot play, or find yourself thinking about the draw all day. If any of those sound familiar, stop and talk to someone you trust.

Take a break or stop for good

Email hello@taji.co.ke from the phone number you play with and tell us you want a break (7 days, 30 days or 6 months) or to be closed permanently. We will stop taking payments from your number and remove you from draw reminders. Permanent closures are not reversed.

Getting help

If playing is hurting you or someone close to you, please speak to a professional — a counsellor, a doctor, or an addiction helpline in Kenya. You can also tell us and we will help you stay out.
